ingredients in Zymosine and many of those studies compare the
efficacy with OTC and

comparisons have been done with:

Q. I am allergic to sulfur drugs is it OK
to take Zymosine?
Yes. Zymosine
should be not pose a problem.
That’s a very
common question. When people are allergic to sulfur drugs they are
generally referring to the sulfasalazine that is in Bactrim or
Septra. That is different than the kind of conjugated sulfate group
that is found in our product (and in most of the food that you eat.)
The sulfur in
Zymosine is similar to the sulfur in food which is an essential
element in your body that you cannot live without.
Q. I am allergic to
Aspirin is it OK to take Zymosine?
Yes, it is OK to take Zymosine.
There are no reports or studies that we are
aware of indicating any allergic reactions for individuals with an
aspirin allergy.
For your reference if you have an aspirin
allergy your should avoid the following herbal supplement
ingredients (NONE of these are in Zymosine): meadowsweet, white
willow tree (Salix alba), crack willow (Salix fragilis), purple
willow (Salix purpurea), and violet willow (Salix daphnoides).
white willow is the most commonly used of the above herbal pain
supplements.
Those plants contain salicin which is
converted in the body to salicylic acid which is almost identical
chemically to aspirin and should be avoided by anyone with an
aspirin allergy.
Q. Are there any precautions?
As with all supplements and foods, allergic reactions could occur.
If you have a known allergic reaction to pineapple the ingredient Bromelain
(made form pineapple) may cause an allergic reaction.
Adverse reactions could occur with any supplement or drug. We
recommend that you always discuss the use of any supplement with
your health care professional.
As with the majority of supplements, studies regarding the effect
on fetal and nursing babies are limited so we do not recommend it's
use by pregnant or nursing women.
Q. Are there any side effects?
Studies that have been conducted on the
ingredients in Zymosine report that they are well tolerated in
individuals and have few if any minor side effects. Patient studies
conducted comparing the herbal ingredients in Zymosine with other
pain relievers have reported fewer patient side-effects than OTC or
prescription pain relievers.
